Effect of Harvesting Time of Seed Tubers and Carbon Disulphide (CS2) Concentration on the Dormancy Breaking of ¢¥Superior¢¥ Potato Tubers

Abstract
Carbon disulphide (CS©ü) was treated with different levels (0, 12, 24, 36mL/§©) on ¢¥Superior¢¥ potato seed tubers harvested at 90, 100 and 110 days after planting (DAP). Sprouting ratio, decay ratio and sprout growth in the pre-sprouting bed, and plant growth and tuber yield in field were investigated. Seed tubers harvesed at 90 DAP showed a complete sprouting ratio in 12-36 mL/§© CS©ü treatment, and the same result was also obtained in 36 mL/§© CS©ü treatment of seed tubers harvesed at 100 DAP. However, the highest decay ratio was exhibited in 36 mL/§© CS©ü treatment of seed tubers harvested at 110 DAP. Sprout growth and plant growth were outstanding in 24 and 36 mL/§© CS©ü treatment of seed tuber harvested at 90 DAP, and 36 mL/§© treatment at 100 DAP Seed tubers harvested at 90 and 100 DAP and treated with CS©ü 36 mL/§© showed the highest tuber yield.
